Rukia's house was in the middle of no where around Northern California. It was made of brick with one story and an attic. Most of it was covered in vines, though it was not covered densely. It had a porch, with a bench type swing. It was completely different from what she had grew up in when she lived in New York, the state not the city. Rukia didn't live in NYC until she ran away. [ooc: changed the history, and some of the personality to more of a nomadic thing.]
Once you walked into the doorway you would see a living room, Rukia kept that room clean for the sake of company. The walls were mostly window panes, letting a lot of light in. There was a white couch with very colorful throw pillows. The floors were hardwood; there was a carpet placed under the glass coffee table. Rukia had a television, nothing big, even though she never took the time to enjoy it.
The next room was not as clean, nor did it have the contemporary and modern feel. It had grey walls and a black floor, quite dark and not much sunlight. Rukia had a pile of scap metal in one corner of the room. The metal scraps was from things she either had to destroy or things she took apart but couldn't figure out how to put back together. She had a metal desk with a very bright lamp placed on it. This was just where she tinkered with electronics and explored mechanics.
If you walked through the doorway standing opposite from the one you came in you would find her animal room. She kept some of her pets there while others roamed freely around the house as they wished. She had two macaws named Tsunami and Hurricane, one was a gold and blue and the other a scarlett. She also had a sugar glider who she hadn't given a name to and a couple capybaras running around. As you can obviously tell, Rukia liked exotic animals. She enjoyed their company more then people sometimes. People were... eh. They just annoyed her to death. She tolerated them but never really cared for one, not including family members.
Then, Rukia had her study room. Books were stacked on multiple shelves. She had books on grammar, history, math, science, along with a bunch of other school courses and also some for enjoyment. The room had a rustic theme. Rukia came her to read, sit on the comftly couches, and do school work.
The attic was where Rukia's room was. The whole upper floor was her domain. It was colorful, with orange walls. She had a bed, not that she used it, and a bunch of knick-knacks on her side table. She had little paper butterflies and planets hanging from the ceiling. Sometimes she would run into these and almost poke her eye out with the pointy parts when it was dark at night and she was too lazy to turn on a light. Her closet was stuffed with bags, they took up most of the space. She rarely spent time in her room and was usually by the mechanics room.
The backyard was just the backyard, she had a pool. The pool acted as an ice rink sometimes if the weather was cold enough. Other times the capybaras would just eat grass out there when good weather came. Rukia didn't come out there that much either.
That day she was by the animal room, feeding all of the animals. She was putting seeds into the macaws' bowls that sat ontop of their cage. Rukia only put one treat in there, so Tsunami and Hurricane started yelling at each other as they pulled their feathers out. They were intelligent and could have conversations with each other as well as people.
"It's mine!"
"No it's not!"
"Yes"
"No!"
"Yes!"
"No!"
"Just share it!" Rukia said, sick of listening to them.
"Do we HAVE to, Ruka?" They never could say her name right, she always corrected them but it never really worked. She liked being called Rukia, and not Ruka. Ruka reminded her of Ruka-pyon from Gakuen Alice.
"Share it or I'll take it back."
"FINE."
Rukia moved on to the next habitat, the sugar glider's, and started to hum Tiny Dancer by Elton John.
