Lacey had been taking a small trip to Denali, Alaska to visit the family. Denali was prized hunting land, having many deer and moose and such. Lace didn't hunt much in Forks, fearing that the growing population of immortals would upset the balance of nature. Too many predators, not enough prey = bad.
The cold, fridgid air blew against her as she ran. She perferred going on foot rather than going by plane, much too slow. Lacey's eyes were onyx black. Her throat was burning and her bloodlust was eating away at her constantly during the duration of the trip. She hated this feeling. She felt helpless. She felt cruel knowing that someone, or something, had to die for her to live. It woundn't be that much of a problem, seeing as she was not a vegetarien during her previous life, but the kill part was taking a toll on her. She hated the feeling of snapping a deer's, for instance, neck.
Lacey hated drinking blood. Even though it was filling and sustained her, it was repulsive once she thought about it. It tasted good at first, amazingly so, but made Lace feel so... so wrong. She decided on drinking animal blood a coupe centuries back. Killing a human felt similar to cannibalism.
A scent of something with a beating heart hit her like a frying pan to the head. It didn't smell like herbivore. The scent was human. Definantly human.
Ugh, why can't hikers just stay the heck away from the trails? Are they begging to be killed?!
Lacey didn't move. She stopped dead in her tracks. She stopped breathing, stopped blinking even. Her hands curled up into fists as she fought what she thought she wanted. She turned as calmly as she could towards the scent and started to walk. She was close, Lacey could see the human.
Suddenly, her willpower came back suddenly as she whipped around and began her hike away from the temptation.
Eventually, she had arrived in the humble Denali. Lacey would see everyone later when she was ready, but for now she would be at Amanda's Music Store. Sure, there were music stores in Forks, but Lace liked Amanda's the best.
She looked up at the ceiling, checking for the little signs. They alphabetized the store by band names. She walked down the ailse until she got to G. She was looking for Green Day. Typical Lacey.
As she was shuffling through the CDs someone grabbed her arm, and Lacey spun around to look at who.
"Lacey talking" Lacey thinking "Others talking"
