Ebony's lived in The Forks Public Library. She had no where else to go so she stayed there.
You may be wondering why she could be able to pull it off, seeing as many people went in and out daily and she could be easily found. The library was actually quite spacious and roomy. It was one of the larger building Forks, Washington featured. All of the book shelves hid her from the public.
In the mornings she would go and probably pick up a good book. Ebony had a large amount of books at her grasps, it was very convenient because she had a thirst for knowledge. If she was in a tight squeeze for money she would sneak a couple oranges out of the staff room then be on her way. This normally didn't occur because Ebony worked anywhere and everywhere she could get a job. She worked from Dowlings to The Monster Shack. She liked to keep herself occupied.
Ebony stayed out of the library most of the time and went to work. Sadly, work wasn't there everyday. She would go on walks in the woods sometimes and then get hopelessly lost. Eventually she would get out... It took her days and sometimes weeks to get back. She enjoyed it though, Ebony loved challenges. Ebony would go to the mall every blue moon. She went monthly when she was... human... but now she went every other week because her clothes kept shredding. But anyway, she liked to keep busy.
At night she would sleep in the reading nook of her choice, there were five scattered around the library. She had stolen a key ring from one of the workers and copied every key, Ebony had access to every room and everything. She kept her own keys strapped to a belt loop at all times.
Those were all advantages to living in a library; the cozy couches and sofas, the limitless books, the shelter from the elements, and everything else that she didn't have before. There was one drawback, sometimes later in the night she would forget to lock the doors after she came in and people would use the self-service registers. The public would sometimes see Ebony in the library wandering around looking for the bathroom, seeing as she forgets where it is, and think she was a ghost haunting the place. Then, knowing Epi, she would scream a little then run away frantically at the sight of someone seeing her. She was normally quite pale at night because she had trouble sleeping and she would doze off for very few hours, making her have that tired and haunted expression. She was known as, 'The Ghost Girl.' Ebony would joke with people when they came up to her saying she was a spirit from the dead just to freak them out. People would stroll up to her to get a better look, scream that there was a ghost, then leave her to shrug off the stares that bore into her back as she walked off not caring what so ever.
It was night time as Ebony slept on a couch that was covered in her favorite, fuzzy blanket near the front. As usual she had forgot to lock the doors. Ebony walked to the entrance of the 'STAFF ONLY' room and fumbled with her keys for a little. She opened the door and grabbed a bottle of water. Ebony locked the door then started to drag herself drowsily to where she had decided to bunk for the night.
Lacey walked through the front of the doors of the library, normally she would drop off her books in drop off slot outside of the building but she really needed a book on La Push and Quiluete history. Lacey had forgotten she had a report due tomorrow and hadn't even looked at a single paragraph of information.
"Hello? Is anybody here?" She called out when she heard footsteps, then she heard a bottly of water fall to the ground and the scamper of running feet. She started to walk fast towards the noise and found a blonde girl who was about 5 feet and 4 inches tall. Lacey looked at the girl, she looked around 15 and smelled like a werewolf.
Ebony eyed the girl suspiciously.
"What? You're not gonna yell, 'GHOST!' and run away? 'Cause if you are, we perfer the turn, 'Undead Americans.'" Ebony teased in a sweet voice, hoping that later on she could make the black-haired teenager pity her enough to not tell anyone where she lived or who she was.
Nope, you're no ghost. But I do know what you really are, a werewolf." Lacey replied. "My name's Lacey, what's yours?"
Ebony looked this girl over one more time, she probably should lie about her name but she didn't. Epi was very surprised that someone knew what she was when she didn't even quite know herself.
"E-E-Ebony, how do you know?" Ebony asked, very intrigued.
"Because, you smell like one. You can probably tell, but just incase you can't, I'm a vampire. I doubt you're a La Push pack member, I haven't seen you in the meetings, but I can call and ask if you could join." Lacey replied to her and helped Ebony up. Ebony was crouched on the floor with her knees to her chest, leaning on the walls.
"That would be great, thanks." Ebony said with sincere greatfulness in her voice.
Lacey nodded and dialed Paul on her cell phone.
"Yello? Meraz residence, Paul speaking." Paul said as he picked up the phone, of course he was awake. Paul was up watching a special on his favorite show, NCIS. (OOC: AWESOME SHOW! ^.^)
"Paul, who says 'yello?' anymore? It sounds gay." Lacey replied and laughed.
"I do, but what the heck do you want?! I'm in the middle of my crime series marathon!" Paul exclaimed as his eyes were glued to the screen.
"We got a new wolf here, AND THAT'S TONIGHT?!? YOU MEAN I'M MISSING IT?!" Lacey practically screamed.
"YEAH IT IS! You better get your butt infront of the fancy-schmancy TV down by that leech hole you call home. And what does that have to do with me? Just bring her to a meeting and call it a deal." Paul had a little edge in his voice, and tears in his eyes as one of the most improtant NCIS characters was about to die temporarily.
"Fine, and... IT ISN'T A LEECH HOLE, dog breath!" Lacey's tone got hard and edgey also.
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever, tell it to the judge." Paul mumbled then hung up abruptly.
"Okay, you can come to the next meeting Ebony." Lacey smiled at her. "If you want you can stay at my place, even though it might smell like vamps."
"No thanks, I'm fine in the library." Ebony was so shocked that someone actually offered help, normally she was just shoved away.
"Are yoe sure?"
"Yeah."
"Bye," They said in unison. Lacey left, Ebony couldn't sleep because of the excitement.
Ebony woke up, went to the bathroom stall, got dressed, then walked out of the library, stretching and yawning. A couple people stared at 'ghost girl' then got freaked out when Ebony creeped them out with a glare. She walked to Dowlings, where she just got a new job. Ebony HATED cars. If she drove one she would crash into everything, if she rode one she would puke her guts up. She hated anything that moved, like busses and planes and trains and taxis and all that stuff. But she needed to take the job.
